A domain transfer starts with a domain transfer order on our website. Upon ordering a transfer, you’ll need an EPP authorization code for most extensions, which you can get from your existing registrar, and the domain must be unlocked for transfer. After you pay for the transfer, which is necessary since a domain is automatically prolonged for a year upon transfer, you’ll confirm the transfer by clicking on a link sent to you by e-mail. Afterwards, it’ll only take a couple of minutes up to a few days, depending on the registrar and the domain extension, until the transfer is complete.
Depending on the selected operating system, you can manage VPS setting using the Remote Desktop (Windows) or SSH (Linux). You can also install a web hosting control system, such as cPanel or CentOS Web Panel. You can access basic options, such as starting, restarting, stopping, selecting an IP address, server name etc. through the MyDataKnox user site.
The duration of a domain transfer can be divided into two groups:
.hr i com.hr domains The transfer of these domain extensions is the quickest. Prior to the transfer, the current registrar of the domain must unlock it for transfer, and an order for transfer must be placed with MyDataKnox. After the payment is complete, you’ll receive an e-mail containing a link for transfer confirmation. As soon as you click on the link in the e-mail and confirm the transfer, it should be executed in a matter of minutes.
.com, .net, .org, .biz, .info and other extensions The transfer of these domains takes 5 to 7 days. Prior to the transfer, the current registrar of the domain must unlock it for transfer and request an EPP authorization code which enables the transfer. After you’ve received the EPP code, you can place a domain transfer order with MyDataKnox. After the payment is complete, you’ll receive an e-mail containing a link for transfer confirmation. As soon as you click on the link in the e-mail, the process of transferring the domain from your previous registrar to MyDataKnox will start. A domain transfer is actually a change of registry. It’s important to note that the transfer pertains only to the domain, not the hosting content. In other words, your domain can be registered with one provider, and the hosting (content) with another.
A domain transfer costs as much as the renewal of that domain. When a domain is being transferred, it is also automatically renewed for another year, starting from the date of expiration of its current lease period. You can find the pricing of domain transfers here.
MyDataKnox doesn’t access your VPS data and therefore doesn’t create backup copies. In order to securely backup your content, you need to use one of our cloud backup service or your own solution. MyDataKnox is not responsible for any data that might be lost due to your lack of a backup copy.
In order to activate the R1Soft backup service, all you need to do is to install the R1Soft client software on the server you want to backup. Afterwards, the R1Soft makes copies in the following way:

In order to perform a successful domain transfer, you have to meet the following requirements:
You have be the owner of the domain or have access to the e-mail address indicated in the server as the e-mail of the administrator
You need to unlock the domain for transfer with your current registrar and get an EPP code, which is required for most extensions (not for Croatian domains)
The transfer must be initiated no later than 10 days prior to the expiration of the domain, so that it doesn’t expire during transfer
The transfer must be performed at least 60 days after the domain has been registered or previously transferred.

Starting in 2025, a condition for successful registration of .hr and .com.hr domains is verification of the domain owner’s data, which means that the user is required to provide evidence that the owner’s data entered when ordering the domain is correct. Why do I have to prove that my information is correct?
According to the Cybersecurity Act , published on February 7, 2024, the Registry and registrars of .hr domains are obliged to determine the exact identity of domain users during registration based on secure and credible systems and data sources, i.e. to verify users.
How is verification done?
The verification process in MyDataKnox is performed after payment of the offer upon completion of the domain order.
After paying for the offer, the MyDataKnox system starts a verification process consisting of three steps:
You will receive an email to your email address with a link to verify your ordered .hr and .com.hr domains.
When opening the link, you are allowed to select the document you want to attach as proof of identity.
After you attach the document, a PDF statement will be generated with an overview of your information as the domain owner and the document attached in the previous step.
By clicking the confirm button, your verification is saved in the MyDataKnox system.
MyDataKnox support confirms or rejects the verification.
If the verification is confirmed, your domain is registered and the verification process is complete. In case of verification rejection, you will receive an email stating the reason for the rejection and a new link to repeat the verification process.

Frequently asked questions
What if I don’t verify my identity? In case of unsuccessful verification, MyDataKnox will refund the amount paid for the domain, and the domain will not be registered.
I clicked on the verification link, but I got the message “Your verification token has expired” If you see a token expiration message, it means that more than 72 hours have passed since the verification email was sent and you need to request a new verification. Simply click on the “Request New Verification” button and the process will start over
I attached a document, but I received the message “Invalid file format. Allowed formats are: …” If you see this message, it means that the attached document is in a format that we do not accept. Simply return to the verification form and attach the document in an allowed format. Allowed formats are listed in the document submission form, and certainly include JPEG and PNG formats.
What information do I need to confirm during the verification process? The information that is confirmed by your acceptance of the information on the generated PDF statement is: Name and surname, address, e-mail address, OIB (Croatian Tax Identification Number), and phone number. All of the above information is required for the successful registration of .hr and .com.hr domains.
Redirecting an existing domain to MyDataKnox servers is performed by changing nameserver scripts. The changes are executed in the system of the registry where the domain is registered. If you decide to redirect your domain registered elsewhere to your MyDataKnox hosting account, you need to change the nameservers of the domain to: NS1.MYDATAKNOX.COM (185.15.29.210) NS2.MYDATAKNOX.COM (185.15.29.211)
If I order web hosting today, how much time will it take for it to be ready to use? If you’re paying with a credit/debit card or using Paypal, your web hosting will be ready momentarily.
